Exciting news for older Nintendo fans! Classic GameCube games are set to make their way to the Nintendo Switch 2 through an expansion pack to the Nintendo Switch Online service. The lineup will include The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soul Calibur 2, and F-Zero GX.

Multiplayer games on the Switch 2 will have online functionality, allowing players to connect with others worldwide. These games will also receive visual enhancements and higher resolutions for an improved gaming experience.

Additional titles will be added to the Switch 2 in the future as part of the expansion, including:

  • Super Mario Sunshine
  • Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
  • Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness
  • Super Mario Strikers
  • Chibi Robo
  • Luigi’s Mansion
  • Pokemon Colosseum

While the release date for these titles is not yet confirmed, the initial three (The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soul Calibur 2, and F-Zero GX) will be available on the Switch 2 at launch on June 5.

Regarding the new GameCube controller, it will be accessible to Nintendo Switch Online Members. So, if you’ve been competing in Melee tournaments, you’ll need to sign up to get your hands on a new controller.
