Charlize Theron says Uma Thurman should have won an Oscar for Kill Bill

The Old Guard 2 features a showdown between two action legends. Charlize Theron, who starred in the first film, will go head to head with Uma Thurman from Kill Bill in the sequel. During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Theron had nothing but praise for her co-star.

“We knew each other casually, but I have always been a huge fan of hers and wanted to work with her,” Theron said. “She was like the sensei to me in the action world, the original gangster.”

Kimmel suggested that Thurman should have been recognized by the Academy Awards for her role in Kill Bill. Theron agreed, saying, “Men often get more credit for these movies. What she did in that film was truly remarkable. She’s a total bad***. I’ve always wanted to work with her in an action sequence.”

Theron admitted to feeling intimidated by Thurman when they finally faced off. “I was definitely intimidated by her, especially when she showed up and requested two swords instead of one for our fight scene.”

We will see these two powerhouse actresses in action when The Old Guard 2 premieres on Netflix on July 2.
