An 18-year old in Britain has been arrested after attempting to import a “karambit” knife similar to the ones available in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) or Counter-Strike 2.

Police in Nottinghamshire arrested the teenager after Border Force officials seized the package before it could be delivered. Laws regarding knives and other weapons are infamously draconian in the United Kingdom where individuals have been arrested for brandishing keychains and toys. Most famously, British police once proudly showed off a spoon they had seized in a weapons sweep, thankfully they were able to get the utensil off the street before anyone got seriously scooped.

According to Nottinghamshire police, this sort of interference with the mail is business as usual, saying:

“We also carry out visits to the people who ordered the items to ensure they are held responsible for attempting to bring lethal weapons into our communities.”

Nottinghamshire police also found what they believed to be ecstasy tablets and are also charging the teen with possession of a Class A drug.

In a 12 month period ending in March 2023, there were 244 fatal stabbings in England and Wales and 101 of those were committed with readily available household kitchen knives.

Counter-Strike 2 is now available for Windows PC (via Steam)
