British police sentence man to 4 months over Master Sword toy
British courts have handed down a four-month jail sentence to a man for carrying a miniature Master Sword replica in public.
Warwickshire police reported that the man was convicted of possessing a bladed weapon in public after he was seen with the toy in Nuneaton on June 8. Authorities were alerted to the situation through CCTV footage and acted swiftly.
Anthony Bray, a 48-year-old individual, was approached by police and claimed that he had no harmful intentions with the toy, stating that he used it as a “fidget” to keep his hands occupied.
The Master Sword is the legendary weapon wielded by Link in The Legend of Zelda series, used to defeat the villain Ganon whenever he emerges, both destined to battle throughout history.
Statistics show that in a year leading up to March 2023, there were 244 fatal stabbings in England and Wales, with 101 involving common household kitchen knives. However, no data regarding incidents involving Master Swords could be found.
