Brave integrates its own search results with its Leo AI assistant

Brave Software, a privacy-focused search engine and web browser company, is enhancing its Leo chatbot by integrating search results from the Brave Search API. Leo is seamlessly integrated into the company’s browser, allowing users to access up-to-date information more easily.

This integration enables users to retrieve various information, such as the latest scores, additional context while reading articles, and searching for recent and relevant topics to enhance their social media posts.

Brave ensures that user privacy is a top priority with this integration. Users are not required to log in, and their conversations with the AI chatbot are not stored on the company’s servers. Additionally, Brave does not use responses to train its model and anonymizes user identity by sending requests to an anonymization server.

For $14.99/month, users can upgrade to Leo Premium, which offers higher rate limits and access to the latest models. The company issues unlinkable tokens with the subscription to maintain user privacy.

Brave has been enhancing its AI capabilities to attract more users to its browser and search engine. Features such as AI-powered summarization, the Leo AI Assistant, and the AI Answer engine have been introduced to provide users with a more efficient search experience.

While other browsers have integrated AI to some extent, Brave’s unique advantage of owning both a browser and search stack allows it to refine its product and provide users with a seamless experience.
