Boston Republican confronted in viral video over '47' hat

A Massachusetts College of Art and Design student recently confronted a Trump supporter in a heated, expletive-filled rant triggered by a hat. However, it wasn’t the typical red MAGA hat that caused the outburst.

The Trump supporter, Nicky Miceli, was wearing a white baseball cap with a large gold “47” on the front, which was enough to incite the aggressive encounter on April 10, as captured in a video.

“I truly feel sorry for this individual,” said Nicky Miceli, a senior at Curry College. “I believe the liberal media has instilled this hate in people, where they have been constantly ripping into not just Trump, but his supporters, too.”

Miceli, who is 21 years old and a member of Massachusetts’ Republican State Committee, was approached by a mustachioed man while walking outside Boston’s Wentworth Institute of Technology. The man began shouting in Miceli’s face without any provocation.

Realizing the situation, Miceli started filming the encounter, in which the man repeatedly called him a “Nazi” or a “Nazi punk.” Despite being prepared to defend himself, Miceli remained composed as the man continued to hurl insults and follow him.

Instead of responding with profanity, Miceli thanked the man for providing him with content, which only seemed to anger the aggressor further. The man even attempted to get passersby to join in his tirade against Miceli, but to no avail.

Despite the confrontation, Miceli chose not to involve the police. He expressed his belief that incidents like this, along with the attempted assassination of President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, are fueled by hate perpetuated by the media.

“We live in the greatest country in the world, where you have the freedom to express yourself,” Miceli stated. “Everybody has a right to wear whatever they want. But this is who we are as Trump supporters. We’re way more mature than them.”
