'Bigscreen' Launches Paid Cloud Browser to Let Quest Users Screen Share Without a PC

Bigscreen Launches Cloud Browser for Quest Users

Bigscreen, known for its social VR screen sharing platform, has introduced a new paid cloud-streaming service aimed at making it easier for Quest users to enjoy content without the need for a PC.

The platform already offers a remote desktop client for Quest, allowing users to access content from their PC on the Quest app. This eliminates the need for a powerful VR-ready PC, as it can work with most PCs, including those with Intel CPUs and integrated graphics that support Quick Sync Video.

Now, Bigscreen is launching its ‘Cloud Browser’ service, which enables users to host rooms and stream content without requiring a PC.

Although DRM restrictions limit access to services like Netflix and Disney+ on the Cloud Browser, users can still stream content from platforms like Plex, Dropbox, and Vimeo.

Additionally, users can browse the web for websites and web-based games to share with others in the virtual environment.

Bigscreen’s Cloud Browser is a paid service that offers a free two-hour trial. Day passes are priced at $1.99 for 24 hours of access, while monthly passes cost $9.99 for 30 days of access. More information can be found on the Bigscreen website.
