Bengaluru airport introduces India’s first Aerial View Display (AVD) system, BA

Bengaluru airport has successfully launched the Aerial View Display (AVD) System, marking a significant milestone in the enhancement of airside operations. The AVD System provides real-time, consolidated visibility of all airside activities through a centralised dashboard at the Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC). This system monitors all aspects of airside operations, including flight movements, taxiing, and ground vehicle coordination, ensuring seamless control and improved decision-making.
The AVD System allows airport operators and stakeholders to view airside operations on a single platform, enabling better coordination and quicker, data-driven decisions. It tracks crucial parameters such as aircraft taxiing speed and runway occupancy time (ROT), optimising the flow of air traffic and reducing delays. The system’s integration of ground vehicle monitoring adds to the overall safety and operational effectiveness, ensuring smooth collaboration between all airport functions.
Commenting on the launch, Satyaki Raghunath, Chief Operating Officer of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), said, “BLR Airport has always been committed to adopting technology that drives efficiency, safety, and sustainability. The AVD system enables real-time monitoring of airside operations, supporting our efforts to streamline coordination and reduce emissions. It will help improve capacity and operational performance, enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers.”
This new innovation further solidifies BLR Airport’s position as a leader in modernising airport management. With its focus on optimising operations and adopting sustainable practices, the AVD system marks another step in the airport’s journey towards operational excellence.
