Battle Brothers gets an update two years on from its last one with some fixes and, surprisingly, some new content

There’s exciting news for Battle Brothers fans as the game, which hasn’t received an update in years, has just been updated by developer Overhype Studios. Despite its initial release eight years ago, with its eighth anniversary approaching on March 24th, and a two-year update hiatus, the game now features new content alongside fixes.

The new update introduces two legendary locations, with the first being the Abandoned Village. This location is ideal for mid-game mercenary companies and can be discovered by simply exploring the world. The second legendary location is more challenging and can only be accessed after conquering the first. Both locations offer the opportunity to acquire new loot and legendary items.

Players will need to start a new campaign to access the new content, which may pose a challenge for mod enthusiasts. The update announcement mentions that most mods will need to be updated by their authors to be compatible with the new version. The update post provides details on how to revert to the previous version if needed.

The update also includes various fixes that have been accumulated over the past year, ranging from simple corrections to addressing rare bugs. Players can find the full list of fixes in the update post.

Additionally, Battle Brothers is currently 70% off on Steam, making it an excellent time to dive into the game.
