Baldur's Gate 3 patch 7 will add dynamic splitscreen, new evil endings, Dark Urge fixes and lots more kissing

The latest blog post for the seventh major Baldur’s Gate 3 patch mentions the word “kiss” 10 times and “bug” 14 times. This ratio reflects the balance between addressing issues like progression blockers and catering to the fanbase’s desires. Patch 7, set for release in September, includes dynamic splitscreen functionality, expansions for Honour mode, modding tools, new endings for evil playthroughs, and tweaks for Origin characters.

The dynamic split-screen feature in Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 7 allows co-op players to merge screens when close to each other, enhancing the cooperative experience. Players can toggle this feature from the HUD or settings, both in and out of combat. Additionally, the patch enables banter between characters controlled by different players in multiplayer mode.

Honour Mode in Patch 7 introduces Legendary Actions for more creatures, offering unique special actions in specific circumstances. Creatures like the bulette, Malus Thorm, and githyanki Ch’r’ai Tska’an, Ch’r’ai Har’rak, and Ptaris receive these mode-exclusive abilities. Furthermore, local hobgoblin Dror Ragzlin gains an Arachnid Compulsion ability to summon pit spiders.

The modding toolkit allows players to customize items, cosmetics, races, classes, subclasses, user interface, and dice rolls for skill checks. Larian is collaborating with mod authors to test these tools before the patch’s release. Specific fixes for Origin characters are also detailed on the Steam blog.

New campaign endings are introduced for both Origin characters and custom creations, with cinematic sequences to discover. Evil endings come with improvements and bug fixes for Dark Urge players. Notably, Minthara’s responses are adjusted based on Bhaal’s influence. However, players may be disappointed to learn that kissing Gortash is still not an option.

Despite the updates, some players may still desire unexpected interactions with certain characters. The blog humorously reflects on the community’s varied desires within the game.
