Assassin’s Creed Syndicate gets surprise 60 FPS update on consoles
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, released almost a decade ago, has received a significant performance update on modern consoles.
Ubisoft has announced that the Victorian era stealth game now runs at a smooth 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players can also opt for 4K resolution, although this feature is not available on Xbox Series S.
While Ubisoft has not provided a specific reason for the update, it seems to be a move to generate interest in older Assassin’s Creed titles, including Syndicate, as players eagerly await the release of Assassins’ Creed Shadows in February 2025.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, launched in October 2015, was well-received for its dual protagonists and unique setting. However, it marked the end of an era before Ubisoft shifted focus to Ancient Egypt in Assassin’s Creed: Origins.
Last year’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage offered a different experience with a more focused approach and fewer roleplaying elements. The game received a fair 7/10 rating in our review, appealing to fans of the series’ earlier titles.
