As the tariff chaos begins to settle, it's claimed Switch 2 pre-orders will hit Canada next week, but select American retailers need a little longer

After facing delays in pre-orders in the USA and Canada due to US tariffs, it seems that gamers in both countries may soon have the opportunity to pre-order a Nintendo Switch 2. A reputable video game retail leaker, Billbil-kun, has hinted at potential pre-order dates for the new console. According to their tweet, Canadian gamers may be able to order the Switch 2 starting April 23 from select retailers, while American pre-orders could begin on either April 21 or April 30, depending on the retailer.

Additionally, Billbil-kun mentioned that pre-orders for Switch 2 accessories in the US may start on April 30 from select retailers. While the leaker has a good track record, it’s important to wait for official confirmation before placing any orders. If the information is accurate, it will be a relief for those eager to purchase Nintendo’s latest console.

However, the retail price of the Nintendo Switch 2 remains a mystery for American buyers. With the introduction of tariffs, imported products will likely see an increase in cost, which may be passed on to consumers by retailers. Despite Nintendo of America CEO Doug Bowser stating that tariffs did not impact the initial $499 price point of the Switch 2, American buyers should be prepared for a potential price hike.

What do you think the retail price of the Switch 2 will be in the USA? Are you still planning to order one despite a possible price increase? Share your thoughts below!
