Aquarion: Myth of Emotions

DMM has recently released the creditless opening theme for Aquarion: Myth of Emotions, the highly anticipated continuation of Shoji Kawamori’s iconic sci-fi anime series.

The new opening theme for Aquarion: Myth of Emotions is a remix of the original theme from the 2005 series, Genesis of Aquarion, featuring the classic titular theme by bless4 and singer Akino.

Titled “Aquarion: Myth of Emotions Ver.,” the remixed opening theme showcases both Akino and Yoshiki Fukuyama (known for Macross 7 and JAM Project) lending their voices to different sections of the rearranged theme.

A comparison between the new theme and the 2005 original can be found below.

It’s worth mentioning that the new series ending theme, “Kokuhaku” (Confession), will also be performed by Akino, although it won’t be revealed until the series premieres.

Aquarion: Myth of Emotions serves as the fourth installment in the franchise originally overseen by Shoji Kawamori, the mastermind behind Macross, and was brought to life by animation studio Satelight. The story unfolds after the events of the initial three series.

Key personnel involved in the new series include Kenji Itoso as director (known for Coluboccoro and Santa Company), Sadayuki Murai as the screenwriter (renowned for Millennium Actress and Perfect Blue), Masashi Kudo handling character designs (Bleach and Terminator Zero), and the musical composition by both Takashi Ohmama (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury) and Shu Kanematsu (My Next Life as a Villainess).

Aquarion: Myth of Emotions is scheduled to debut on January 10th via Tokyo MX and other national channels in Japan, with simulcasting/streaming beginning on January 9th through Crunchyroll.
