Apple releases Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Camera

Apple has officially launched Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Camera, as announced on Thursday. These apps were first introduced during Apple’s iPad event in May, with updates also available for Final Cut Pro for Mac.

The iPad version has been enhanced to make use of the new iPad Pro with an M4 chip, offering up to 2x faster rendering and support for up to 4x more streams of ProRes RAW compared to the M1.

Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 introduces the new “Live Multicam” feature, allowing users to wirelessly connect and preview up to four cameras simultaneously. The Final Cut Camera app enables manual control of camera settings and connection of multiple iPhones or iPads for a director’s view of each camera angle.

In addition, Final Cut Camera can function as a standalone recording app, providing users with control over settings like manual focus, shutter speed, ISO, and more.

Another key feature in Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 is support for external projects, allowing users to create or open projects without using internal storage space.

Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 introduces new AI features, including automatic color correction with “Enhance Light and Color” and enhanced motion with “Smooth Slo-Mo.”

Existing users can update to Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 for free, while new users can access Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 for $4.99 per month or $49 per year, and Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 for $299.99 on the Mac App Store.
