All NASCAR games will be delisted December 31st, confirms Motorsport Games

Motorsport Games has officially announced that all of its NASCAR games will be removed from digital platforms on December 31st, 2024. This decision comes after the sale of the NASCAR license to iRacing has been finalized. Motorsport Games is facing financial challenges, as indicated by recent financial reports stating that the company requires additional funding to sustain operations in the coming year.

In a statement, Motorsport Games addressed the NASCAR game community, stating, “To the NASCAR game community! Starting December 31, 2024, all NASCAR game titles and DLC content will no longer be available for purchase on digital platforms. However, players will still be able to access and play these games after this date. This includes the NASCAR Heat, NASCAR Rivals, and NASCAR Ignition franchises. Look out for special promotions this December to complete your NASCAR console game collection before they are delisted! We sincerely appreciate the support and enthusiasm from our community throughout the years and hope you have enjoyed racing with us.”

The recent third quarter 2024 financial results for Motorsport Games highlight the company’s financial struggles. The report states, “Based on the current cash reserves and monthly cash burn rate, the Company anticipates a shortfall in funding for its operations in the next year, necessitating additional funding. To address this liquidity issue, the Company is exploring various options, including seeking equity or debt financing, strategic business alternatives such as asset sales or licensing, and further cost-cutting measures.”

With developers already being laid off, Motorsport Games may have to consider further layoffs and selling off more licenses, such as the Le Mans license, if additional funding is not secured.
