Alabama lunch lady Amy Nicole Wigginton brought teen student home for sexual encounters: reports

A married Alabama lunch lady admits to having sexual encounters with a teen student

Amy Nicole Wigginton, a 41-year-old employee of Lauderdale County Schools, confessed to engaging in sexual activities with a male student under the age of 19 on two occasions in March, as reported by WAAY TV.

Wigginton, who is married and has children, allegedly brought the young man to her family’s home in Rogersville for the encounters, according to the Daily Mail.

When confronted by local authorities, Wigginton admitted to the illicit behavior and waived her rights while being taken into custody. She is facing two counts of a school employee engaging in a sex act, but not charged with having sex with a minor, according to court documents.

The age of consent in Alabama is 16 years old.

The Lauderdale County Schools system, which comprises four high schools and seven elementary and middle schools, has placed Wigginton on administrative leave following the allegations.

Wigginton was arrested and booked at the Lauderdale County Jail, with a bond set at $100,000. This incident follows the arrest of Christina Formella, a married special education teacher in Illinois, who is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old male student and recently made headlines for her emotional reaction to the charges.

Formella claimed she was being set up by her victim and targeted for her appearance.
