Akasa Air expands to Bihar, launches flights from Darbhanga, BA News, BA

Akasa Air has officially entered Bihar with the launch of operations from Darbhanga, adding the city as its 28th destination. The new route connects Hyderabad and Darbhanga via Delhi, with no change of aircraft required, enhancing seamless travel between two key metro cities and the northern Bihar region.

The inaugural flight from Delhi to Darbhanga was flagged off at a ceremony held at Indira Gandhi International Airport by the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu. The event was attended by Akasa Air’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Vinay Dube, along with senior officials from the government and Delhi International Airport. The maiden flight departed from Delhi at 9:00 am and landed at Darbhanga at 10:55 am. A second event was held at Darbhanga Airport to mark the return flight to Delhi.

The new route is part of Akasa’s wider effort to deepen air connectivity between metro hubs and Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. With this launch, the airline aims to contribute to Bihar’s economic and social development by improving access to and from the region.
