Akasa Air expands operations in Abu Dhabi with daily flights from Ahmedabad and Bengaluru, ET TravelWorld

Akasa Air, India’s rapidly growing airline, has announced the introduction of daily direct flights between Abu Dhabi and the cities of Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, effective from 1st March 2025. These new services build upon the airline’s existing daily route between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, launched in July 2024, and further strengthen Akasa Air’s presence in the United Arab Emirates.

The Indian market has emerged as a significant contributor to tourism in Abu Dhabi, thanks to its geographical proximity, shared cultural ties, and the city’s diverse range of experiential offerings. The expansion of Akasa Air’s routes is driven by a positive response to its Mumbai-Abu Dhabi service and growing demand for travel to the UAE from across India, including two key cities – Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.

Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, expressed his enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “We are excited to enhance our network in the UAE with the addition of daily direct flights connecting Abu Dhabi with two major Indian cities – Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. This expansion aligns with our goal of making air travel more accessible to a larger segment of the Indian population by improving international connectivity across the country. This increased connectivity will also help foster the ongoing growth of trade, tourism, and economic activity between India and the UAE.”He further added, “It is truly gratifying to see Akasa Air becoming the preferred choice for travelers, and we remain committed to ensuring reliability and affordability as we continue to expand our global footprint.”
