Agatha All Along has captivated audiences and sparked a social media frenzy akin to WandaVision in 2021. This time, the buzz revolves around the enigmatic character of Joe Locke, known as Teen.

The sixteen-year-old is ensnared in a dark spell that silences him whenever he attempts to disclose his name or share details about his past.

Fans speculate that this dark magic enthusiast, a devoted fan of Agatha (referred to as her “pet” or “Toto” for now), will have a significant role not only in this series but also in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole. It would require a powerful witch to cast such a spell.

In episode three, Teen’s curiosity about Agatha’s missing son grows, a son the witches believe she would not recognize “even if he turned up at her door” – mirroring Teen’s own situation.

With each passing week and new episode, speculation continues to mount. Here are some of the most popular theories regarding the true identity of Teen in Agatha All Along.

Nicholas Scratch

Initial speculation suggested that Teen could be Agatha’s lost son, Nicky – also known as Nicholas Scratch. Viewers may have noticed a glimpse into Agatha’s son’s room in episode one, hinting at his name and the possibility of this Comic Book character appearing in the series.

In the comics, Nicholas eventually became the leader of the New Salem community in Colorado and later became a supervillain, battling against the Fantastic Four and betraying his own mother.

In episode three, Teen’s interest in this mysterious figure grows, prompting him to inquire further with Jen about the son, who she speculates could be deceased, a “daemon,” or an “agent of Mephisto.” It remains unclear whether Teen’s curiosity stems from his fascination with Agatha, his self-interest in uncovering suspicions within the coven, or his own connection to Nicky.

Recalling the speculation surrounding Mephisto’s involvement in Wanda’s hex during WandaVision, could this be another misdirection? Or are we on the verge of encountering an evil follower of the ruler of Hell?

Billy Maximoff

The prevailing theory among fans is that Locke portrays an older version of Billy Maximoff, Wanda’s son seen in WandaVision as a ten-year-old boy.

Several clues point to this being Teen’s true identity, such as his fascination with dark magic and his quest to traverse the Witches’ Road – which promises one reward to any who undertake it. This reward could potentially involve freeing his mother, Wanda, whom Agatha hinted may not be deceased when she cryptically stated “You never know” in episode 1, while trapped in her detective illusion.

Additional subtle hints include Teen being enveloped in a blue aura reminiscent of Billy in WandaVision, and the sigma-shaped stitching on Teen’s lips, forming a ‘W’ or ‘M’ shape. This suggests that the powerful witch responsible for the spell could be his mother, Wanda Maximoff.

While the timeline discrepancy with WandaVision exists – with Agatha All Along set three years later, making Billy 13 instead of 16 – it is possible that he could be a replication of Wanda and Vision’s son.

In the comics, Billy Kaplan, also known as Wiccan, possessed the ability to alter the rules of magic and was a formidable witch in his own right, eventually becoming part of the Young Avengers. Only time will unveil the true identity of this teen… and in a world of magic, anything is possible.
