After Perfect Dark's reboot rocked up at the Xbox showcase, the original drops on Switch today

Exciting news! The long-awaited Perfect Dark reboot was showcased during Not-E3’s Xbox event, giving us a fresh look after years of anticipation. And to add to the excitement, the original Perfect Dark game is now available on the Nintendo Switch, featuring full online multiplayer functionality.

However, there’s a catch – in order to access the game and four other classic titles that are being released alongside it, such as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Four Swords, Metroid: Zero Mission, and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, you’ll need to subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. These games were recently unveiled during the June 2024 Direct event.

It’s worth noting that both Turok and Perfect Dark are part of the Nintendo 64 Mature 17+ collection, so parental permission may be required for younger players. If you’re under 17, you won’t be able to download these games. Sorry, no dinos for the kids!

And speaking of costs, the only downside to these exciting releases may be the price of the Expansion Pack subscription service. It remains to be seen whether parents will be willing to foot the bill for their gaming-hungry kids.

In addition to these game announcements, the latest Nintendo Direct also showcased upcoming titles like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and Mario & Luigi Brothership.
