Aces of Thunder getting non-VR version after release
Publisher and developer Gaijin Entertainment announced Aces of Thunder will receive a non-virtual reality version post-launch.
Their new virtual reality spinoff set in the War Thunder universe will initially launch for VR platforms on PC (via SteamVR) and PlayStation VR2, with a non-VR release planned for PC and PS5 shortly after. The release date for the game is approaching in the next few months.
“Flat screen mode will enable more players to access the game and allow VR users to experience the benefits of immersive flight simulation dogfights with a headset,” stated Kirill Yudintsev, the creative director of Gaijin Entertainment in a press release. “The game is in its final stages of polishing, and the developers are dedicated to launching it only when it meets our standards.”
Here is a brief overview of the game, along with its latest trailer:
Aces of Thunder is a flight combat simulation game that showcases a range of iconic World War I and World War II planes with meticulously recreated cockpits for an unparalleled level of immersion, designed to be used with HOTAS controllers. Players will have access to a variety of aircraft from five nations upon purchase. The game features multiple game modes, including PvP battles, challenging single player missions, and a combat scenario editor for those who prefer to play by their own rules. Success in Aces of Thunder will be determined by skill, precision, and mastery of aerial combat.
