A 25-year-old police drone founder just raised $75M led by Index

Calling 911 from hard-to-reach areas may soon involve the use of drones from Brinc Drones, a Seattle-based startup founded by 25-year-old Blake Resnick, who left college to pursue the company.
Founded in 2017 and backed by investors like Sam Altman, Brinc recently secured $75 million in funding led by Index Ventures, bringing its total funding to $157.2 million.
Specializing in drone systems for law enforcement and public safety, Brinc is part of a growing trend of U.S.-based drone startups manufacturing locally due to restrictions on Chinese companies dominating the market.
The company has formed a strategic alliance with Motorola Solutions, a major player in the U.S. security industry, to integrate Brinc drones into 911 call centers for dispatch during emergencies.
Despite competition from other U.S. startups like Flock Safety and Skydio, Brinc remains confident in its unique offerings such as window-breaking capabilities and delivery of emergency medical devices.
