Kate Middleton made a stylish comeback in burgundy.

The Princess of Wales, 42, who has been on a break from royal duties due to battling cancer, stepped out in the symbolic deep red color from head to toe along with some special jewels.

She was accompanied by Prince William, also 42, at a welcome event for the Emir of Qatar, who is on a visit to the U.K. The royal couple coordinated their outfits, both opting for burgundy and white to honor the flag colors of Qatar.

Kate Middleton wore a chic Alexander McQueen coatdress paired with a Sahar Millinery drop beret hat, Cornelia James gloves ($188), and knee-high Gianvito Rossi leather boots.

She carried a burgundy Chanel top-handle purse for the Ceremonial Welcome at Horse Guards Parade.

In addition to her symbolic color choice, Kate Middleton wore the Four Row Japanese Pearl Choker, a sentimental piece with a royal history as it was once owned by Queen Elizabeth II.

According to The Court Jeweller, the necklace was “reportedly a gift from the Japanese government, possibly acquired during the 1980s, when she made a state visit to that nation.”

The late Princess Diana also wore the meaningful necklace for royal engagements in the ’90s.

Kate Middleton has showcased the sentimental piece at previous royal events, including Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in 2021 and Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022.

For the morning ceremony, Kate paired the meaningful necklace with her beloved Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings, which were also passed down from the queen.

Kate has worn the drop earrings on numerous occasions in the past and they are among her favorite jewelry pieces.

During the ceremony, the royal couple welcomed Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his first of three wives, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani.

Kate Middleton actually wore two outfits on Tuesday; for the indoor portion of the welcome events, she changed into a similar burgundy coatdress by Epione London and switched her boots for dainty Gianvito Rossi pumps.

Royal enthusiasts can look forward to more appearances from the mother of four in the days to come.
