I Was Wrong About The Pixel 9 Pro XL

I decided to switch to the Pixel 9 Pro XL for a recent trip, even though I usually prefer smaller phones. Surprisingly, it turned out to be a great choice.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL, the largest phone in Google’s Pixel 9 range, is a big and bold device with a distinctive rear camera module. While its size initially concerned me, I found it to be manageable once I started using it.

Compared to the iPhone 16 Pro, which I had just reviewed, the Pixel 9 Pro XL proved to have better battery life for my long days in Hawaii. It exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and usability.

It’s too big and bulky

Initially, the weight of the Pixel 9 Pro XL was a concern, but I quickly got used to it and found it to be comfortable to use. One-handed usage might be a challenge for some, but it was not a major issue for me.

Battery life still isn’t good enough

Despite concerns about battery life, the Pixel 9 Pro XL performed exceptionally well, lasting through long days with plenty of charge remaining. It turned out to be a strength rather than a weakness of the phone.

Charging is too slow

Although the Pixel 9 Pro XL has limitations in terms of charging speed, using a 65W charger allowed me to quickly charge the phone to last a full day. It was efficient and reliable in this aspect.

I won’t enjoy watching videos on it

The Pixel 9 Pro XL’s display exceeded my expectations, providing a great viewing experience for watching content. The stereo speakers added to the overall enjoyment, making it a suitable replacement for a TV while on the go.

Photos won’t be good enough to use on the site

The Pixel 9 Pro XL’s camera performance was impressive, delivering clear and detailed photos even in challenging lighting conditions. It proved to be a reliable companion for capturing moments during my trip.

While the Pixel 9 Pro XL has its drawbacks, such as its size, weight, and pricing, it offers a great overall experience. I hope to see it become more accessible to a wider audience in the future.
