Chicago teen, Vicky Murillo, left blind in one eye as group terrorized city in Halloween paintball attacks

A Chicago teenager lost vision in one eye after being targeted in a random Halloween paintball attack by a group of individuals driving down her street.

Vicky Murillo, 19, and her friend were followed by a car in the Clearing West community. The car made a U-turn, drove back to the teens, and shot paintballs at them multiple times.

The attackers shot paintballs at the young women from the car before fleeing the scene, leaving Murillo and her friend injured and bleeding on the ground before they were taken to the hospital.

Murillo underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured eye globe caused by one of the paintball shots. Doctors are skeptical about the possibility of her regaining vision in that eye.

Several surgeries are scheduled for Murillo’s injuries, and her family is hoping for positive outcomes while remaining optimistic.

Murillo’s brother, Adrean, expressed frustration over the senseless crime in their neighborhood, as other neighbors also reported being shot by paintballs on Halloween.

The incident occurred in the Clearing West community, and Murillo’s family was informed of similar incidents involving two other people in the city on the same night.

Video footage captured the perpetrators firing paintballs at unsuspecting victims in various Chicago neighborhoods, displaying malicious intent in the attacks.

Adrean has been working with detectives to identify the shooter responsible for his sister’s injuries, hoping for severe charges to be brought against the suspect.

“We want it charged as high as we can get it, because if not, it’s going to be a slap on the wrist,” Murillo said.
