Kojima Productions has surprised fans with the release of Death Stranding on Xbox, breaking its PlayStation exclusivity.

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is now available for Xbox Series X and S on the Microsoft Store, currently offered at a 50% discount. The game has also been made available on the Amazon Luna cloud streaming platform.

The game originally launched on PlayStation 4 in 2019, followed by a Windows release on Steam in 2020. It was later ported to PS5 in 2021 and to Apple devices in January 2024.

Here’s a brief overview of the game:

From the mind of Hideo Kojima comes a unique gaming experience, expanded in this definitive DIRECTOR’S CUT.

In a future where the Death Stranding event has blurred the lines between life and death, eerie creatures from the afterlife wander a world scarred by desolation.

As Sam Bridges, your task is to bring hope to humanity by connecting the remaining survivors in a ravaged America.

Can you mend the broken world, one step at a time?

DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC features HIGH FRAME RATE, PHOTO MODE, and ULTRA-WIDE MONITOR SUPPORT. It also includes content from Valve Corporation’s HALF-LIFE series and CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. Engage with players globally through the Social Strand System™.
