Apex Legends new Launch Royale mode rewinds back to 2019
Apex Legends’ latest major update, From The Rift, is taking players back in time to early 2019 with the new Launch Royale mode. This mode allows players to experience the game with the original map, selection of Legends, weapons, loot, and gameplay balance. However, this update offers more than just a trip down memory lane.
Launch Royale is a limited time mode that brings players back to the origins of the game, offering a more pure experience without all the additions and changes that have come since 2019. Players will not have access to newer characters, EVO Armor, or Ability Upgrades, allowing them to revisit the early meta of weapons, strategies, and drop points.
Players can also participate in Launch Royale Challenges to unlock Legends and earn rewards such as Apex Packs.
In addition to Launch Royale, this season will see the return of the original medic and healer character, Lifeline. She will have a new kit that includes the ability to teleport the healing drone to allies and deploy a healing forcefield.
Players can also collect Rift Relics from strange portals, which contain overpowered weapons and Boost Kits to give them an advantage in matches. The new universal melee weapon, the Raptor’s Claw, can be unlocked through the Void Mercenary Store until January 7th.
