Capcom’s latest Monster Hunter Wilds showcase has revealed more biomes and monsters for the highly anticipated new game. The showcase also confirmed an open beta test that will be held next week on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Watch the full showcase here, or check out the latest trailer below.

Without further ado, the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test will take place at the following dates and times next week, with PS Plus subscribers getting a two-day early access window:

  • PlayStation 5 with PlayStation Plus Early Access – October 29 at 03:00am GMT – October 31 at 02:59am GMT
  • PS5 (Non-PlayStation Plus), Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam – November 1 at 03:00am GMT – November 4 at 01:59am GMT

PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions are not required for the wider open beta starting on November 1, but will be necessary for the full game next year.

The open beta test will include three parts: complete character creation tool (transferable to the full game), a Story Trial with tutorials and a Chatacabra hunt, and the free-roaming Doshaguma Hunt in the Windward Plains.

Cross-play will be available between all platforms, and participating players will receive a bonus pendant for their weapons or Seikret mount in the full game.

Now for the new gameplay reveals and details from the stream. Capcom introduced the Oilwell Basin, named after its boiling oil wells that can cause firestorms during Firespring periods, adding to the danger of the world!

In this region, the newly revealed Brute Wyvern Rompopolo (not as cute as it sounds) hunts by expelling toxic gas from its mouth and injecting gas into the tar on the ground. Ajarakan also inhabit this area, competing with the Rompopolo for territory. Ajarakan is a fanged beast with a thick shell for high-temperature protection.

Explore the village of Azuz in this region, home to a massive forge and tales of the mysterious Black Flame beneath the basin.

Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for release on February 28, 2025, bringing the long-awaited monster hunting sequel to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
