As Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered approaches release and pre-orders become available, Sony has made some changes to the original game’s availability and pricing on both PC and PS4.

The original Horizon Zero Dawn is no longer sold individually on PC through Steam and Epic, but it can still be purchased as part of a bundle with Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered at no extra cost. The price for the bundle on PC has been set to £45, matching the price of the remastered version. However, the original game can still be purchased separately on PC through GOG.com for £40.

On PlayStation, prices have also seen an increase. The cost of Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PS4 has been raised to £35, while the Remastered version for PS5 will be £45. This includes the original game for PS4, with the £10 difference covering the upgrade to the new generation release.

For existing owners of Horizon Zero Dawn, an upgrade to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be available for £10. Players who purchased the game on disc will need to keep the disc inserted to play.

PC players will also need a PlayStation Network account to play Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, as it is now a mandatory requirement for PlayStation’s PC games. This has been a point of contention among PC gamers.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to release seven years after the original game’s success in 2017. The graphics have been updated to match the quality of Horizon Forbidden West, with support for PS5 Pro from launch. Additionally, over ten hours of dialogue have been re-recorded with improved motion capture and facial animations.

Upon its original release in 2017, we gave the game a solid 8/10 rating, praising its sci-fi story, engaging battles against robots, and technical achievements on the PS4. We believe it still holds up well today.
