Genshin Impact update 5.1

Developer miHoYo has revealed that the upcoming Genshin Impact update 5.1 is set to launch in October, bringing a wealth of new content, including additional story elements and a new character.

The new update, titled “The Rainbow Destined to Burn,” is scheduled to be released on October 9th across all platforms.

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect in the new update, along with a trailer:

The main storyline will progress in the newly introduced region of Natlan, where players will meet Xilonen, a master forger who will aid in combat and exploration. Meanwhile, the Sabzeruz Festival in Sumeru will mark the return of festivities and a special surprise for Nahida.

Natlan faces imminent destruction and the threat of the Abyss, requiring urgent assistance. As players collaborate with Xilonen to forge an Ancient Name for the Traveler, Citlali of the Masters of the Night-Wind will offer her support. Additionally, Ororon is working on a secret plan. Players who complete the two new acts of the Archon Quest in Version 5.1 can earn 500 additional Primogems, with opportunities to earn up to 400 Primogems through specific World Quests and Natlan Exploration Progress.

Xilonen, known for crafting legendary items, is a skilled Geo Sword wielder with unique combat abilities. In combat, Xilonen can reduce enemies’ Elemental RES or heal teammates using her combat equipment, Samplers. By activating Source Samples with her Elemental Skill, Xilonen can enhance her attacks and support the team. The update will also introduce new Event Wishes featuring Xilonen, Chiori, Nahida, and Hu Tao, along with a new Enemy Boss called the “Secret Source Constructor.”

The Sabzeruz Festival in Sumeru will offer players various activities, including mini-games and rewards. Version 5.1 also includes quality-of-life improvements for the Spiral Abyss, character ascension, Artifacts, and Echo Cosmetics.

Genshin Impact is currently available for free on various platforms, including Windows PC, PlayStation, Android, iOS, and soon on Nintendo Switch. For more information, you can read our review of the game.
