How to dig up buried treasure chests in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

When playing a game centered around exploration like Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, it’s natural to anticipate hidden treasures at every turn.

However, another crucial aspect of Echoes of Wisdom is the utilization of Zelda’s abilities in innovative and sometimes unexplained ways. Players are encouraged to explore all the tools at their disposal when faced with various challenges, which can be both enjoyable and perplexing.

One puzzling mechanic in Echoes of Wisdom involves the buried treasure chests scattered throughout Hyrule. These chests often hold valuable rewards such as rupees and ingredients for smoothies, but accessing them can be a bit tricky. Here’s how to do it:

To retrieve buried chests, press X to cast Tri forward and have it possess the chest.

Then, move away from the chest while Zelda tugs on the tether connecting her to Tri.

Eventually, the chest will be pulled out of the ground, allowing you to collect the treasures inside.

It’s easy to overlook this ability, as much of the game focuses on leveraging the powers of Echoes in combat and puzzle-solving scenarios.

In addition to retrieving chests, you can use Tri’s power in various other situations. For instance, you can defeat Deku Babas by removing their flower heads in a similar manner to extracting a chest from the ground.

Tri can also be used to manipulate objects in puzzles, especially through non-solid walls or jail bars. This enables you to place items on switches or topple objects, even if they initially seem out of reach!
