Metro Awakening

Vertigo Games have revealed the release date for Metro Awakening, the latest installment in the Metro series designed for virtual reality platforms.

Metro Awakening is set to launch on November 7th for Windows PC (via Steam VR), PlayStation VR2, and Quest 2+3.

Below is an overview of the upcoming game, along with a new trailer:

Metro Awakening is a narrative-driven first-person adventure created exclusively for VR, combining atmospheric exploration, stealth, and combat for the most immersive Metro experience to date.

The storyline is set in 2028, where survivors of a nuclear apocalypse seek shelter in the underground subways of the Moscow Metro – a place where ghosts and spirits haunt the living in a man-made purgatory.

Players assume the role of Serdar, a doctor navigating the darkness, radiation, and dangers of the Metro in search of his wife and vital medication. As courage and sanity are tested, players must navigate between life and death, the spiritual and physical realms, and awaken their true self.

Key Features:

  • Immerse yourself in a spiritual awakening journey with a chilling supernatural backstory by Metro creator Dmitry Glukhovsky
  • Experience Metro’s intense gameplay in VR for the first time, facing challenges like condensation on your mask, dwindling supplies, and flickering torchlight in the dark
  • Utilize a unique arsenal of handmade weapons, wear a gas mask, and explore the depths of the Metro where bandits, mutants, and other threats lurk
