China has issued a plea for its citizens in Lebanon and Israel to evacuate or relocate to safe zones amid the escalating conflict between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
The Consular Department of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised Chinese citizens in Lebanon to take commercial flights back to China or leave Lebanon promptly for their own safety. This statement was shared on the social media platform WeChat on Monday, September 23, 2024.
For those who must remain in Lebanon, the advisory stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of vigilance, enhancing security measures, and being prepared for emergencies. It also cautioned against visiting high-risk and sensitive areas in the southern part of the country.
