Hilarious Card Game ‘Exploding Kittens’ is Coming to Quest Next Month, Trailer Here
Casual card game Exploding Kittens coming to VR
Exciting news for fans of the casual card game Exploding Kittens as it is set to make its debut in the world of virtual reality next month. The VR version of the game promises to retain all the fun and humor of the original, while adding a new dimension of VR madness.
Scheduled to launch on October 3rd on Quest 2/3/Pro, Exploding Kittens VR will allow players to enjoy the game with up to four other players online or against bots. The objective remains the same: strategically avoid drawing the Exploding Kitten card and be the last player standing to emerge victorious.
Originally conceived by Matthew Inman of The Oatmeal webcomic, along with Elan Lee and Shane Small, the game garnered significant attention on Kickstarter in 2015, raising $8.78 million to bring it to life. Since then, the game has seen adaptations to flat screens and even received its own animated series on Netflix.
In addition to standard social VR features like avatar customization, chatting in a 15-person social hub, and playing mini-games, Exploding Kittens VR will offer unique VR interactions with cards and a plethora of 3D animations for added excitement.
Upon release, the game will offer three modes: Classic and Blitz mode for up to five players, and Duel mode for one-on-one matches. Players can pre-order Exploding Kittens VR now on the Horizon Store at a discounted price of $18/£13.50/€18.
