MSI MPG Gungnir 300R Airflow PC Case unboxing and impressions
This week, PlayStation revealed the new PlayStation 5 Pro set to retail at $699 for Digital and more for one with a disc drive. With the price of mid-generation consoles rapidly approaching the price of middle-tier PCs, some gamers are starting to consider switching from consoles to PCs.
Yes, the entry price for personal computers can be a bit intimidating at first, however, once you break down the price of parts to build a computer, it can be cheaper or even the same price as mid-generation consoles, especially if you pick up parts during a sale/sales.
Once you equate in the variety of deals you can get through Humble Bundles or Steam, PC seems like an even better option. With Microsoft and Xbox putting their first-party titles onto PC either on day 1 or a few months down, the exclusivity aspects of consoles have drastically closed the gap.
When looking at computers, you have to decide if you want a prebuilt computer or if you want to build your own. If you decide you want to go the building route, you will have to decide how much RAM, Graphics Card, Motherboard, Battery, CPU, and Case you want to use.
As you decide your parts, you will need to find what works best for you financially and aesthetically. Next year, we will be building a new computer in order to stream more games to you, and because of this, we reached out to MSI in order to check out their MSI MPG Gungnir 300R Airflow PC case.
But why the MSI MPG Gungnir 300R Airflow PC case? When looking at cases, we originally considered the Hyte Y60 in red and black, however, after looking through MSI’s website the MSI MPG Gungnir 300R Airflow PC quickly caught our eyes with its LED dragon panel. With a rotating RGB color scheme, the MSI Dragon is a nice visual that can keep your or your stream’s eyes busy.
Unboxing
When unboxing the MSI MPG Gungnir 300R Airflow PC case, I was not prepared for how much padding was actually around the case. MSI has gone out of its way to make sure that the case was well protected and would avoid any potential damage if it was mistakenly dropped or negligently thrown.
When you open the case to look at the internal structure, you can see the attention to detail MSI has put into the case. On the right side of the case, MSI has fed the cables through the side panel securely making for exceptional cable management.
The case has multiple fans allowing for proper cooling and on the top of the case there is a dust shield to stop dust or other debris from falling into the case.
The case has a good amount of room for users to upgrade their system and has a fairly easy-to-access panel in order to place the parts.
When moving things around within the case, it felt like every area was easily accessible and that we could adjust the frame to suit our needs.
