James Earl Jones cemented his Hollywood status in one of his final events

James Earl Jones Honored in Disney Legends Hall Of Fame Ceremony

James Earl Jones, the late “Star Wars” star, solidified his status as a Hollywood legend in a special ceremony on July 10, 2019. In the ceremony held in Pawling, New York, Jones cast his handprints and signature in cement as part of his induction into the Disney Legends Hall Of Fame.

Although Jones couldn’t attend the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, Disney CEO Bob Iger introduced a pre-recorded video message from Jones for the attendees. In the video, Jones expressed his gratitude for being included in the Disney Legends Hall of Fame and wished the fans, “May the force be with you.”

Throughout his illustrious career, Jones lent his voice to various iconic Disney projects, including voicing Mufasa in “The Lion King” and Darth Vader in the “Star Wars” franchise. His contributions to Disney were recognized by his induction into the Disney Legends Hall Of Fame.

After being named a Disney Legend, Jones received another remarkable honor when Broadway’s Cort Theater was renamed in his honor. Despite not attending the public ceremony celebrating the renaming, Jones was given a private tour of the theater bearing his name a few days prior.

Following Jones’ passing, tributes poured in from fans and colleagues, including Mark Hamill and Kevin Costner. Jones’ legacy includes not only his iconic roles in film and theater but also his impressive collection of awards, including 3 Tony Awards and an honorary Oscar.
