Planetary Annihilation's factory management spiritual successor has hit its Kickstarter funding goal

Industrial Annihilation is a unique blend of Planetary Annihilation and Factorio, combining big robot battles on a planet with intricate factory management. Previously aiming for a spring Early Access release through StartEngine, the game has now successfully completed its Kickstarter campaign in September with plans for an Early Access launch by the end of 2024.

The Kickstarter campaign exceeded its funding goal of £152,299 ($200k) and raised a total of £233,597, unlocking stretch goals like an original soundtrack release and additional in-game content. This funding is in addition to the $820,284.30 (around £624k) raised through the earlier StartEngine campaign.

Many video games use multiple platforms to raise capital before release, with StartEngine serving as an investment platform rather than just a crowdfunding tool like Kickstarter. For fans of robot strategy games like Supreme Commander, Industrial Annihilation offers a fresh take on efficient base construction and factory management.

Although the Kickstarter campaign has ended, late pledges are still possible. More information about the game can be found on its Steam page.
