VR MMO 'Zenith' Releases Final Content Update & Drops Price Amid Development Halt

Ramen VR, the developers of Zenith: The Last City, made the decision to halt development on the VR MMORPG due to difficulties in retaining players. The final content update for the game has been released, along with a price drop to bid farewell to new players.

Update (August 29th, 2024): Ramen VR has unveiled the last content drop for Zenith, known as Season 4: Golden Isles. This update was based on player feedback gathered from the Zenith Discord community and the customer feedback portal Feedbear.

The final season includes new content for the free-to-play section, Infinite Realms, as well as bug fixes for both Infinite Realms and Zenith: The Last City paid DLC. Changes include new layouts in Infinite Realms, new cosmetics, the return of original Fast Fly, and an increase in daily raid limits in The Last City.

To say goodbye, the price of Zenith: The Last City paid DLC has been reduced from $30 to $10, available on all major VR headsets.

The team expressed gratitude to the players who have supported Zenith and encouraged new players to join in on the experience. The game will continue to host community events, with nostalgic events planned for September 6th-8th.

The original article detailing the development shutdown is provided below:

Original Article (July 15th, 2024): Ramen VR announced the decision to discontinue development of Zenith in a video, citing challenges in retaining players as a key factor.

Despite a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2019 and significant funding rounds, Zenith struggled to maintain player engagement. The introduction of Infinite Realms, a free-to-play model, aimed to attract more users but was not successful in improving player retention.

While development on Zenith is ending, the game will still be accessible for players. Shards for both Zenith: The Last City and Zenith: Infinite Realms will continue to operate for the foreseeable future.
