Exciting News: Recent developer showcases have revealed a slew of reissues of classic games set to hit release calendars in 2024 and 2025. These titles include games that have never been available on PC, haven’t been on the market for decades, or have never been playable in English.

Interestingly, showcases aimed at boosting support for the Nintendo Switch have also confirmed PC conversions of beloved retro games, many of which are part of collections containing multiple titles.

Capcom emerges as a major player in this trend, announcing ports of numerous fighting games and other titles since the beginning of the summer.

The latest surprise is Capcom Fighting Collection 2, featuring Capcom vs. SNK games, Power Stone titles, and other beat ’em ups that have been hard to find for the past two decades and were previously unavailable on PC. This collection is set to launch on Steam and modern consoles next year.

Additionally, a package bringing Capcom’s Marvel crossover games to Steam is nearing release, with Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics set to launch on September 12.

Another bundle includes two games from Capcom’s Ace Attorney series, with the second title making its English-language debut. A demo is currently available, and the full launch is scheduled for September 6.

Microsoft is gearing up to release Age of Mythology: Retold, their latest RTS remake, on September 4. Customers who opt for the premium edition can access the game early.

Resident Evil 2’s original version is now available on GOG, offering improvements and making the survival horror classic playable on modern Windows systems. GOG also plans to release the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil 3 in the future.

Digital Eclipse announced Tetris Forever, a collection of over 15 Tetris entries commemorating the puzzle game’s 40th anniversary. This bundle, following the format of Digital Eclipse’s documentary games, will include archival footage and developer commentary on Steam and GOG later this year.
