Experience the best of Bangkok without breaking the bank.

Amidst rising inflation rates worldwide, finding affordable accommodation can be a challenge. However, a clever US backpacker managed to secure an Airbnb in Bangkok, Thailand for just one dollar a night, documenting his experience in a video shared online.

Named Mike Rari, the content creator and prankster showcased the budget Airbnb in a “Cribs”-style video, expressing his excitement at the incredible deal he had scored.

While the exact location of the rental unit remains unknown, it is said to be a short 10-minute drive from Chinatown in the Thai capital.

In the video, the intrepid traveler, known for his popular YouTube channel, is seen climbing a rickety ladder to reach the front porch of the wooden abode perched on stilts.

Upon entering, Rari reveals a simple setup consisting of a floor cot with mosquito netting, a fan, a trash can, and a drawer for belongings.

The space also includes a US flag for a touch of home comfort, along with basic amenities such as an outdoor laundry station, workout equipment, and a kitchen area equipped with a table, rice cooker, boiler, and fridge.

Additional shared facilities include a toilet and shower, with the renter using a bucket for bathing. A lockable cabinet is available for rent at a nominal fee of around 3 cents.

Despite its modest accommodations, the Airbnb offered great value for money in the bustling city of Bangkok.

While the rental may seem unconventional, it still outshines some deceptive listings that fail to deliver on their promises.

From bathrooms with beds to fake seaside views, some rental properties can be misleading compared to this budget-friendly find in Bangkok.
