The era of Iron Man may have ended, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see more of the iconic mech suits from the Marvel universe. Disney is set to release a series based on the comic book arc ‘Ironheart’, following the young genius Riri Williams, who was introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Ironheart will be added to the growing list of Marvel Disney originals, such as Agatha All Along and Daredevil: Born Again. Read on to learn more.

Ironheart release date

Marvel has announced that Ironheart will premiere in 2025, with a specific release date yet to be confirmed. However, a filing with the US copyright office lists a date of September 3, 2025.

Originally scheduled for Fall 2023 as part of Marvel’s Phase 5 lineup, Ironheart was delayed due to project reshuffling. The series is expected to consist of six episodes.

Cast and crew of Ironheart

Dominique Thorne will portray Riri Williams, with Anthony Ramos playing Parker Robbins/The Hood, and Lyric Ross in a speculated role as Riri’s best friend. Sacha Baron Cohen has been rumored to be involved, possibly portraying Mephisto.

Alden Ehrenreich and Regan Aliyah have also joined the cast, with Chinaka Hodge as head writer and Ryan Coogler as executive producer.

What will Ironheart be about?

Ironheart will introduce Riri Williams, a young genius who creates her own suit of armor reminiscent of Tony Stark’s. In the MCU, Riri is mentored by Shuri and Okoye after building a vibranium suit in Wakanda.

Expect to see Riri facing challenges and developing her superhero persona in the series.
