Replica B.C. hobbit house up for sale - Okanagan

Situated between the fantastical world crafted by J.R.R. Tolkien and British Columbia’s Boundary region lies a charming slice of Hobbiton that is now available for purchase.

Known as Second Breakfast Hideaway, this unique property is located a short drive east of Osoyoos in B.C.’s Okanagan Highlands. In 2022, it was recognized as one of the top 26 destinations in the country for a one-of-a-kind minibreak, based on Airbnb data.

The current owner, Christina Le Comte, acquired Second Breakfast Hideaway in 2020 from its original owners. The property features a cozy kitchenette, a fireplace, a dreamy bedroom, and an outdoor fire pit, all set on a spacious secluded piece of land where guests can unleash their creativity.

“Visitors often arrive overwhelmed, some even shedding tears of joy as they immerse themselves in the experience,” said Le Comte. “They come dressed in costumes, sporting hairy feet, ears, beards, and cloaks. It’s truly amazing to witness people rediscover their inner child in a place where they can just let go and have fun.”

Having hosted over 1,000 guests on her Bridesville property, Le Comte has decided to pass on the stewardship of this magical tiny home. The miniature shire and the expansive 400-acre property it occupies are now on the market.

“It’s time for me to move on and for someone else to care for the property,” Le Comte mentioned. “There is so much untapped potential here that I haven’t even begun to explore. I hope the next owner will take it to new heights.”

The Hobbit Hole, inspired by the iconic film series The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, includes additional structures on the premises such as a house, a cabin, and two barns, all listed for sale at $2.5 million.

Le Comte expresses her wish for the new owners to continue sharing the property with short-term renters.

“I believe it should be kept available for rentals and perhaps expanded upon,” Le Comte suggested. “The joy it brings to people is truly heartwarming and seeing that is immensely rewarding.”

The next chapter of Second Breakfast Hideaway eagerly awaits its storyteller.
