New WhatsApp Feature Breaks The App – Install This Update Now

WhatsApp has recently been testing various new features and designs to enhance the user experience.

Most of the changes to the popular messenger app have been well-received. However, one new feature seems to have caused serious issues for some users.

With the 2.24.12.7 update for Android devices, WhatsApp introduced a new filter option that allows users to filter all chats by unread messages and display only group chats on request to improve organization.

While the idea behind this feature is good, unfortunately, some users experienced crashes and were unable to use WhatsApp after updating to the new software version.

Initially affecting beta testers, the issue also extended to regular users who updated the app, with iOS users remaining unaffected.

The total number of users affected by this problem is unclear, but given the large user base of WhatsApp, it could be significant.

WhatsApp update offers a solution

Fortunately, users affected by the WhatsApp bug no longer need to wait for a fix. According to WABetainfo, one of the latest updates for the messenger app should resolve the issue.

Users can update the app immediately by enabling automatic updates for WhatsApp on their device or checking for updates in the Google Play Store. If an update is available, simply tap ‘Update’.

It’s been a while since a small feature caused such significant problems for WhatsApp users. Hopefully, similar issues won’t arise in the future.
