Bigscreen Beyond’s Long-awaited Audio Strap to Begin Shipping Next Month

Bigscreen has announced that Beyond, its slim form factor PC VR headset, will finally be receiving its long-awaited Audio Strap starting next month.

The Bigscreen Beyond headset was initially released in late 2023 with promises of an audio headstrap to follow soon after. The company had stated last December that shipping was expected to begin in March 2024.

Due to various manufacturing delays, Bigscreen has now stated that the first mass production batches will undergo quality checks in early August, with global shipping set to commence in mid-August.

According to the latest production update, the company mentioned, “Based on current preorder volumes, we’ll be able to produce and ship Audio Straps for all orders received so far in early October.”

Priced at $130 and available directly from Bigscreen, the rigid strap features on-ear headphones that the company claims “provide high-end audio and powerful bass,” with the speakers being designed by Koss.

When Road to VR reviewed the Bigscreen Beyond headset at its launch in September 2023, it was evident that the device delivered on its promise of being the smallest possible headset with the highest image quality. However, the lack of a dedicated audio solution was a significant drawback.

Ben Lang of Road to VR stated in the review, “Until we have the upcoming deluxe audio strap to pair with Beyond, it feels incomplete. We’re eagerly awaiting the strap’s release as it will truly make a difference for the headset, and we plan to update our review accordingly.”
