New Transformers game Galactic Trials is part racing game and part roguelike battler, out this year

After a long wait, a new Transformers video game is on the horizon. The last installment was Transformers: Battlegrounds in 2020, and since then, the highly anticipated MMO Transformers Online has been canceled. However, fans can look forward to a new game that combines racing and roguelike elements, featuring the iconic robots in disguise.

Transformers: Galactic Trials introduces the vehicular bots to the world of racing for the first time. However, this is not your typical racing game, as players will also engage in action-packed battles while navigating the tracks. The game, developed by 3DClouds, blends traditional racing gameplay with elements of an action-RPG, allowing players to switch between vehicle and robot forms to overcome obstacles and enemies.

Players can expect a roguelike progression system where they collect Prime relics to enhance skills, unlock new characters from both Autobots and Decepticons factions, and customize their appearance with various skins. The game will feature two modes: a single-player campaign with 10 levels and an Arcade mode offering local multiplayer for up to two players, with options to customize tracks, weapons, and characters.

Additionally, “location-based specialised tournaments” will be available, providing players with the opportunity to participate in bracket-based competitions. Transformers: Galactic Trials is set to launch on October 11th, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the Transformers series. Fans can also anticipate the release of Splash Damage’s co-op shooter Transformers: Reactivate, following its closed beta delay from last year.
