A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead story trailer shows off snippets of noisy gameplay
Saber Interactive and developer Stormind have unveiled a new trailer (via IGN) for A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, their horror game inspired by the popular film series. Take a look:
The trailer showcases a glimpse of the initial days of the alien monster invasion, highlighting the bond between protagonist Alex, a college student with asthma, and her boyfriend Martin. Fast forward to Day 105, we see Martin and Alex navigating the post-apocalyptic world in search of supplies from a house still powered mysteriously.
The attention to detail is evident in the use of hand and head gestures for communication, cautionary messages against screaming even in a “safe” room, and the mechanics of opening doors. However, it appears that the world is facing a shortage of WD40 and oil-based lubricants, along with a lack of comprehensive sex education, as all hinges are squeaky and Alex is heavily pregnant. This poses a challenge as anything related to babies is notoriously noisy.
Noteworthy silent items include cars, shotguns, and alarms. Uh-oh…
Developed by Stormind Games, known for titles like Remothered: Broken Porcelain, Tormented Fathers, and Batora: Lost Haven, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead marks a significant progression for the studio. While the trailer emphasizes action-packed moments with the Quiet Place monsters, the game’s overall pace is expected to be more deliberate and methodical.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC later this year.
