Tiny Garden plants a charming, cozy farming sim inside virtual Polly Pocket toys

Tiny Garden is reviving the nostalgic charm of Polly Pocket with a charming farming simulation game set inside a virtual plastic clamshell, inspired by the popular nineties toy phenomenon.

Developed by Spanish studio Ao Norte, this delightful game envisions a world where the iconic mini-dioramas serve as self-contained ecosystems capable of growing crops. Players can sow seeds and then turn the handle on the side of the toy to watch carrots, lettuces, and various other plants and vegetables flourish. (Source: Eurogamer)

The main goal of the game is relaxation and customization, without any specific scoring or challenges. Harvesting crops yields more seeds, offering the opportunity to discover new plants, including rare shiny ones reminiscent of Pokemon. Players can enhance their garden with furniture and decorations obtained through crop trading.

Certain plants have the ability to transform the grid-like landscape, allowing for the cultivation of cacti in arid soil, lush grass and bushes, or water features like fountains to grow water lilies and aquatic flora.

Ao Norte describes the game as compact as the clamshells that inspire its levels, emphasizing that it’s not a lengthy gameplay experience but rather a relaxing option for a few hours of enjoyment. Tiny Garden has successfully reached its funding goal on Kickstarter and is scheduled for release on Steam and Itch.io in February, offering a tranquil farming experience in a toy-like setting.
