Stephen Bannon Plans to Record His Podcast and Then Report to Prison
Stephen K. Bannon, the longtime adviser to former President Donald J. Trump, will host the final two hours of his podcast just outside the federal prison in Danbury, Conn., before reporting for a four-month sentence on Monday.
Mr. Bannon, who recently lost his bid to avoid incarceration, plans to tape his podcast as a bold statement directed at the Justice Department before surrendering himself to authorities. Despite his upcoming absence, he remains confident that his podcast, “War Room,” will continue to thrive with a team of guest hosts.
He has assembled a group of nearly 20 guest hosts, including prominent figures like Andrew Giuliani, Maureen Bannon, Noor bin Laden, and Jeffrey Clark, to ensure that the show maintains its momentum in his absence. The podcast features a lineup of influential guests who cater to Mr. Trump’s dedicated base of supporters.
Despite facing his own legal challenges, Peter Navarro, a former trade adviser in the Trump administration, is also set to contribute to the podcast. The show’s regular contributors are committed to keeping the content engaging and impactful during Mr. Bannon’s time in prison.
While some doubt the podcast’s ability to maintain its influence without Mr. Bannon, others acknowledge his significant role in the political landscape. His absence during the critical final months of the presidential race is expected to leave a void that may be challenging to fill.
Despite the limitations imposed by the Bureau of Prisons, Mr. Bannon remains focused on using his time in prison productively. He plans to stay connected to key individuals through email and intends to catch up on reading during his incarceration.
Mr. Bannon’s temporary absence is seen as a rallying cry for his devoted listeners, who continue to support the podcast. His return just before the election is anticipated to reignite the momentum leading up to Election Day.
As Mr. Posobiec aptly describes, Mr. Bannon’s comeback will be akin to the return of a wise leader in an epic tale, ready to lead his followers to victory.
