Nacon and Big Ant Studios have made the decision to rebrand Rugby 24 as Rugby 25 as it launches into Steam Early Access for PC today. The full game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC later this year.

Why the name change? Due to delays, the focus has shifted to the 2024-25 season for all future licensed content. This is a common practice in sports games, naming them for the upcoming season.

Launching in Steam Early Access, Rugby 25 will offer a preview of the game’s mechanics, aiming to collaborate with players to enhance the rugby gaming experience before the official launch later this year.

Rugby 25 Early Access will feature 21 nations, including the Australian and French teams, with detailed photogrammetry capturing their appearances. Updates in the future will introduce other major nations like New Zealand, South Africa, and England, as well as over 150 club teams from 11 competitions such as the URC, English Premiership, Top 14, MLR, and Super Rugby.
