The new season of the show is based on Mick Herron’s fourth book, Spook Street.

The narrative revolves around David Cartwright, River’s grandfather and a retired Intelligence agent afflicted with dementia. As the elderly spy inadvertently reveals long-buried secrets, River realizes his grandfather is in grave danger.

While River remains stagnant, Jackson Lamb, who once worked with David, takes matters into his own hands.
